US-based Aslina Chua should be considered for SEA Games tryout

Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association (SLTA) wants its SUKMA gold medalist Aslina Chua to be considered for a tryout for the SEA Games tennis national team.

The association's Junior Development Program exco member Stevie Din said the lass' impressive performance during the games should make her as a strong candidate to join the national team.

"...she (has) give(n) her best (in the SUKMA games) ... and ... she is the best women's tennis player" for the State SUKMA tennis team, said the exco member in his Whatsapp message to The Kuching Sports News recently.

In the just concluded games, Aslina who is based in the US, didn't lose even a single game in the women's singles and team events to deliver two gold medals for the State.

Stevie, who was also the State SUKMA tennis team manager, said an upcoming talent Muhammad Aiman Hamdan should also be given an opportunity to swing his racquet at higher level.

"I do hope Muhammad Aiman Hamdan should be considered to take part in a Junior Davis Cup team 2017 selection," he said.
