KUCHING: Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association (SLTA) is banking on Aslina Chua An Ping to deliver the targeted 2 gold medals in the SUKMA Sarawak next month.
Its president Dato Patrick Liew predicted the medals were to be won in a women's singles and a mixed doubles.
Aslina Chua, who won the gold medal for the State in the last SUKMA in Perlis two years ago, will partner with Low Zhe Han in the mixed doubles.
"I'm optimistic the duo can bring in the gold (medals)," said Liew, as quoted by a local English daily recently.
However, the president also disclosed that the State SUKMA tennis team to could spring a surprise in snatching a gold medal in the men's team event if the draw was infavour of the team.
"It all depends on the draw and if we can win three gold medals, it will be a bonus."
The Sarawak SUKMA tennis team is comprised of 5 men and 5 women players.
Men - Low Zhe Han, Alvin Teng Wee Jie, Rohizat Achop, Isaac Law and Muhd Aiman
Women - Aslina Chua, Linda Liong Ting Ting, Belinda Chai Wei Xin, Alia Azman and Tan Lin Xin
