KUCHING: The National Coaching Academy under the National Institute of Sports Malaysia (ISN) has appointed lecturers Dr Chin Ngien Siong from the Institute of Teacher Education Tun Abdul Razak Campus and Gordon Nicolaus Jemat Anchang from UiTM Sarawak Campus as advisory panel board members.
Their letters of appointment were from the Minister of Youth and Sports Khairy Jamaluddin.
Chin will oversee the development of sports science courses at the national level while Gordon will be in physical conditioning.
The duo were appointed based on their expertise, competence and track record in terms of their contribution to sports science.
The panel provides strategic direction, expertise and insights on sports science and coaching resources to coaches in Malaysia.
Sarawak Sports Corporation CEO cum Sarawak State Sports Council director Dr Ong Kong Swee was pleased with the appointments of Chin and Gordon as it showed that their expertise were recognised at the national level.
The accredited panel are made up of respected academics and practitioners from the universities and in line with ISN Malaysia and MSN Malaysia’s current efforts in their implementation of sports science in sports to strive for performance excellence.
He is also proud to serve alongside with Chin, Gordon and the National Coaching Academy to further explore potential opportunities and pathways in sports, coaching and sports science in Sarawak. -TheBorneoPost
