Five silat schools will compete to win various categories that offer a total prizes of RM1,650 in a two day silat tournament during a 2014 Hailam Laut Fiesta that starts today at Damai Sentral, Santubong.
Among the categories are creative solo performance with weapon, and duo performance with weapons.
The five silat schools which are taking part in the tournament are Perguruan Seni Silat Hidayah Melayu, Perguruan Seni Silat Helang Putih Perkasa, Perguruan Seni Silat Hati 12, Perguruan Seni Silat Kibau and Perguruan Seni Silat Asli Cimandi.
The prize giving ceremony is expected to be performed by the Chief Minister of Sarawak Tan Sri Adenan Satem tomorrow at 3pm.
Also expected to present is Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Nancy Shukri.
In addition to the silat tournament, there are also other activities - namely a telematch, an autoshow and an exhibition by various government agencies.
The fiesta is co-organised by Perguruan Seni Silat Hailam Laut, Damai Sentral, Escobar and Montel Montella, in conjunction with the former's 35th anniversary. -TheKuchingSportsNews
