Senior Crocs beat Johore in 5-3 penalty shoot-out to win 3rd spot

LANGKAWI: Senior Crocs won the third spot in the Langkawi International Invitational 9-aside Soccer Tournament today.

The team, which were comprised of former State football players, however, only managed to lay their hands on the spot after edging Johore in a penalty shoot-out.

The score-line was 0-0 until the final whistle.

Young Crocs' winning streak hit a downfall

MALACCA: Sarawak's top scorer Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak got the short end of the stick in the quarterfinal match against Sekolah Sukan Tengku Mahkota Ismail today.

He could not repeat the sterling performance when the Young Crocs were playing in the group stage of the U-19 Youth Cup.

The young lad failed to find his awesome scoring touch at the 88th minute when he had the best opportunity to revive the team's chances to cruise to the semifinal.

Young Croc Rahim is the toast of the team

MALACCA: Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak netted three goals against the Youth Cup 2014 host to push Sarawak to squeeze through the group stage.

It was an awesome performance by the young Croc who had netted the same number of goals in previous matches against Sabah (4-1) and Kuala Lumpur (6-1).

He only failed to score in the team's first match against Kedah which saw the Young Crocs were beaten 1-7.

Malacca: The young Crocs have to wait a little longer before they could confirm their place in the second round of the U-19 Youth football tournament.

While on paper, they have a good chance to get the precious 3 points from their opponent Malacca, their Sabahan coach Johnny Dominicus doesn't want to be seen as being over-confident.

"We were lucky to win 6-1 against Kuala Lumpur this morning.

International Invitational soccer tournament in Sarawak next year

KUCHING: There is a plan to hold an international invitational soccer tournament in Sarawak, disclosed a former ex-State player Subian Putit.
He said the organiser of the tournament, which is being held regularly in Semenanjung, has expressed their intention to bring it here in the Land of Hornbill.
"So far there is yet any decision on this because we want make sure that we are getting all the supports before we can say that we are willing to have the tournament here," he told The Kuching Sports News today.

Johnny's boys thrash Sabah to atone first match's 7-0 embarassing defeat

MALACA: Immediately after the referee blew the final whistle, the Sabahan coach Johnny Dominicus felt that as if he was dreaming!
He just could not believe what had just happened in the last 90 minutes.

His boys were virtually at the mercy of their opponents who were seemed to enjoy themselves making a fool of the young Crocs.

FAM reschedules Friday’s Malaysia Cup fixtures to honour national mourning

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 21): All four 2014 Malaysia Cup matches originally scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed to the next day.

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said the decision to reschedule the fixtures was to honour the day of national mourning tomorrow when the remains of several Malaysian victims of the MH17 tragedy are flown home from the Netherlands.

On its website, FAM noted that except for the clash between Armed Forces and Kelantan which would now be held at the Shah Alam Stadium (initially Selayang Municipal Council Stadium), the rest would take place at the original venues and time.

2014 FAS Sarawak Cup in Kuching and Samarahan

Sarawak FA will play host the 2014 edition of Sarawak Cup that would be held in the Kuching and Samarahan divisions.

So far all the state association's affiliates have confirmed their participation in the 8-day tournament that would kick off on September 20.

Kuching is the defending champion.
